Youth: Fashion Sketching
3:30 PM - 5:00 PM
Perfect for beginners, this class will teach students the basic techniques of fashion sketching. Students will learn how to draw a nine head fashion figure, color theory concepts, draw fabrics draped on the body, and understand the use of light and shadow. This six session class will leave students with a solid foundation in building a professional portfolio.

Youth: Fashion Sewing

Perfect for beginners, this class will introduce students to using a sewing machine, hand sewing, and embroidery techniques.Students will also create a beginners sewing kit to use at home, a perfect way to learn lifelong skills in a fun, and fashion filled environment.
*Professional sewing machines provided in class for student use.
Materials needed:
Fabric cutting scissors
Pack of pins
Pack of assorted needles
Thread (1 white, 1 black)
Tape measure
7” zipper
14” zipper
1/4 yard solid light colored cotton fabric
1/4 yard polar fleece fabric
*Supplies are readily available at Beverly’s, Hancock’s or Jo Ann’s fabrics.
Ages 8 and up
6 week session fee is $190

Oil Painting 101

Class Description: In this introductory class students can expect to learn techniques which will assist them in completing a still life oil painting throughout the course. Students will learn the basics of mixing colors, the use of various brush strokes, perspective, value, and other aspects of artistic composition.
Price: $95 (materials fee not included)
Materials: (students will either need to supply their own materials, or purchase kits from me available at the first class.)
Paintbrushes (synthetic - good, hog hair - better, sable –best) at least 3 - a 1/2 or3/4 inch flat, a filbert brush, a fine-point, small round, and a Palette knife
Pallette – your choice a 12x 16 is a good size (or you can use the disposable paper palettes, which is what I prefer to use)
Sketch book
At least two sketch pencils
Paint – Cadmium Red (med), Cadmium Yellow, Ultramarine Blue, Titanium White, Yellow Ochre, Ivory Black, Burnt Sienna, Raw Sienna, Brunt Umber, Thalo Green
(Table top easels will be available for use during class time.)

Sewing Lounge: Design & Make PJ Pants

This is a great project for beginning sewers. The pattern we'll use is really simple, and you're guaranteed to leave with a pair of pajama pants you'll be proud to say you made yourself. Please bring to class 1 3/4 yards of cotton fabric ( any color or print....you're the designer!) 1 1/4 yards of drawstring, and 1 1/4 yards of trim for the bottom of the leg if you choose to use trim. Keep in mind it should be washable and comfy to sleep in. If you have questions just give me a call: 408-757-3434. Age 8 & up. Sewing machines and supplies provided.
