Wild Joy Blooms: A Day of Painting and Celebrating Creativity

Join Carrie Schmitt for a day of painting and celebrating sisterhood and creativity. Carrie will share how she creates her expressive floral artwork and weave meaningful ritual, movement and celebration to create a nourishing and rejuvenating experience for your creative mind, body and soul.
Supply List: One 16x20 and two 30x30 stretched canvases or canvas panels
Palette paper or a palette of some sort to hold your paint
One photocopied black and white headshot printed on 16x20 copy paper or “engineer print”
Acrylic paint that represents the rainbow of colors (8 colors minimum). Choose of variety of light and dark colors. I recommend Liquitex, Golden and Holbein professional brands. Target also has a line of acrylic craft paint. (If you are on a budget, you might consider buying a few professional grade paints and a few less expensive student grade.)
Golden Titanium White in fluid and heavy body acrylic paint
At least one fluorescent acrylic paint color
At least one metallic acrylic paint color
At least one high flow acrylic paint in a drippy bottle (any color)
Brushes of various shapes and sizes, including large foam brushes for covering a lot of surface at once.
At least one acrylic paint pen.
At least one white gel pen.
One artist or artwork that inspires you or that you are drawn to
Optional: mixed media objects such as decorative papers, handwritten letters, anything meaningful to you to collage
Optional: mark making tools, such as scrapers, stencils, stamps, credit cards, bubble wrap, anything that creates texture or interesting marks. Get creative here!
NOTE: A Work of Heart has all the supplies available in the shop. Please let us know if we can put a class kit together for you.
A delicious lunch of soup, bread and salad will be provided.
